Angela has good DPS with her spells, but the counter mechanics are quite badly designed on SNES: some enemies always counter techs and spells, making mages essentially useless in those fights.įinally, as if the SNES game wasn't already broken balance-wise, you can completely break the game when you reach Byzel, as the items there are cheap, and they simulate spells, with the difference that items are instantly cast, so the Byzel items can replace entire classes. It doesn't help that Kevin's wolf form is bugged on SNES: not only does it increase his attack power, but if he gets hit by an enemy, he gains an automatic Power Up buff that stacks with the wolf form's increased attack power. Other broken characters are Hawkeye and especially Kevin: level 1 techs with the Power Up spell, sabers and double hit can kill the final boss before he casts a single move, which is even worse than the demo in terms of difficulty. Charlotte is also broken due to her instant and powerful healing, but it's not without tradeoffs: she's the most annoying character in the game, so you'll have to bear with her personality if you want the best healer in the game. I hope the classes get rebalanced, since Star Lancer is one of the broken classes on SNES: AoE buffs, and her summon silences enemies, which makes the most dangerous monsters (i.e. Don't know if Angela was improved in this version but in the SNES game she was probably the weakest character. They're in the top 3 for strongest characters. Not sure if this is still the case in this game.Īll girl team would do fine, Charlotte makes the game too easy with insanely strong healing and Reisz is the best buffer. This gets you stat buffs that target the entire party. It isn't necessary to win the game or anything though. Originally posted by Purodiusa:Unquestionable best path for Reisz is Light -> Dark. As for Angela, I'd make her light-sided, since otherwise you'll be low on AoE spells and light-elemental spells. Since Charlotte will have debuffs, you'd rather want light Riesz to get buffs, since double debuffs are redundant.
Necromancer is especially good, since her Black Curse casts all debuffs on an enemy, so it's basically a boss killer. With this information, you are advised to use dark Charlotte, since a mage party doesn't benefit much from sabers. Light-sided Angela is balanced, having AoE versions of level 1 and 2 spells for 5-6 elements and an ultimate spell, and for the dark-sided Angela, Rune Master is about nuking single targets with level 3 spells, and Magus has Angela's highest magic attack, so the class is about DPS with AoE level 1 spells, nuking with level 2 spells, and an ultimate spell. All of Angela's classes are about attack magic.
Light-sided Charlotte gets healing, light-elemental attack magic and sabers (elementally boost up your physical attacks), while dark-sided Charlotte gets healing, summons and stat-downs. They both get summons, and light Riesz gets a slightly higher physical attack. This is all based on the SNES version: light-sided Riesz gets stat-ups (buffs), while dark-sided Riesz gets stat-downs (debuffs). I cant remember well, it's been a long time. I kinda remember that one of these girls shouldn't be evolved into Dark because when she's cast her magic it will attack All parties enemies and your team.
